Helping those in need at Christmas
Donations to the Uetersener Tafel and the Sternenbrücke children's hospice

Doing good together: For many years now ELOKON has been supporting charitable organisations and foundations that assist those in need. This year, we are continuing this tradition of donating to good causes during the Christmas season.

A total of 3,000 euros will be donated to benefit two institutions. 1,500 euros each will go to the Sternenbrücke children's hospice in Hamburg and to the local food bank - Uetersener Tafel.

Social commitment is an integral part of our corporate culture. That is why we are pleased to be able to use the donation money to support the Sternenbrücke children's hospice and the Uetersener Tafel e.V., both of which are committed to invaluable and much appreciated work for people in need.

Sternenbrücke children's hospice

The facility in Hamburg was established in 2003 to enable seriously ill children and adolescents the chance to spend the final phase of their lives with respite care, surrounded by their family members. Every day, the dedicated and experienced team devotes the highest possible levels of care for their young patients. As the health and nursing care insurance companies only cover about 60 percent of the costs, the children's hospice relies on donations.

Uetersener Tafel e.V.

This voluntary association is committed to putting the "daily bread" on everyone’s table. Although there is an abundance of food, many people live in poverty and are forced to go without meals.  Thanks to the efforts of the many volunteers, more than 1,000 people in need from the Uetersen (Northern Germany) region receive weekly supplies of high quality produce and goods which cover their daily needs. Monetary donations to the Tafel project are invaluable, for example, for financing the logistical costs of food distribution.
