ELOKON MD Alexander Glasmacher joins industry experts
Inaugural H&SS round table a great success
Handling and Storage Solutions (H&SS) magazine held its round table on the subject of forklift safety at the beginning of November. Editor Simon Duddy assembled a four-strong panel of experts from major names in the handling and intralogistics sector to explore how the dangers posed by forklifts in the warehouse can be minimised. Our MD Alexander Glasmacher joined representatives from Toyota Material Handling UK, Combilift and Mentor Training for informative and lively discussions.
Improve worker and site safety
Mr. Glasmacher emphasised how technology can help eliminate the problems that come from human error. “There is a broad range of driver assistance systems available on the market today to avoid incidents. The awareness for such solutions, however, can still be much improved. ELOKON’s aim is to show how such systems improve worker and site safety and highlight innovations and trends in driver-assistance technology R&D.”
"Using infrared and laser scanner solutions can considerably improve safety in VNA operations. These are acknowledged to be particularly hazardous applications when trucks and pedestrians are working in proximity to each other."
Inaugural H&SS round table
“This was the first round table under the H&SS brand and it was a huge success", Simon Duddy commented. "The participants are all extremely knowledgeable in their specific fields and bringing them together resulted in very insightful conversations on the key questions that can mean life or death around the use of forklifts in the workplace.”
