Driver-assistance system for pedestrian-forklift safety wins GOLD
ELOshield, our anti-collision system for pedestrians and lift trucks, is at the top of the winner’s podium again! The readers of Plant Engineering voted it 2018 Product of the Year, with a Gold Award in the Safety category.
Kevin Bradley, Vice President Sales and Operations of our U.S. subsidiary, ELOKON Inc., and Mario Dümer, Account Manager, were thrilled to accept the Gold Award on behalf of ELOKON. “This honor is further confirmation that our automated safety and driver-assistance systems for industrial trucks are leading-edge solutions for material handling,“ said Bradley.
Safer and more efficient material handling operations
ELOshield helps prevent both pedestrian-forklift and forklift-forklift collisions. Its radio-based technology detects when people or other vehicles are too close, and warns both the driver and pedestrians. The system has two adjustable zones—“warning” and “protection”—which can be flexibly programmed.

The Plant Engineering Product of the Year Award honors innovative products and solutions across both manufacturing and non-manufacturing industries. This year, hundreds of nominees competed in 15 different categories. After the field was narrowed down to just a few finalists in each category, ELOshield was able to beat off tough competition to win Gold for Safety.

This is the fourth time ELOshield has been on the receiving end of a major award. Our pedestrian-forklift safety system has also won a Material Handling Institute Innovation Award, the 2018 Best of Industry Prize, and a 2017 Handling Award.
